SKILLED CRAFT:  A-1 Excavating, LLC is a union contractor and we do the majority of our hiring through local union halls around our jobsites. We partner with two different types of unions: Laborers Union are Operators Union, primarily in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

JOB PURPOSE: Dump Truck Drivers haul material to various work sites or from one area of a work site to another.

REPORTS TO: Dispatcher

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hauling of aggregates or materials removed from job sites or to job sites.
  • Pre and post trip inspections of trucks
  • Fill out required paperwork completely and accurately
  • Washing and cleaning of truck interior and exterior including the truck bed
  • Follow all state and federal regulations regarding operation of a commercial motor vehicle
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb in and out of truck cab and bed of truck
  • Must be able to drive off road on uneven surfaces
  • Able to maneuver and control vehicle in traffic on both rural, narrow roads and congested urban streets and highways
  • When necessary, must be able to climb into bed of truck and shovel wet or frozen material from the bed
  • Able to fill out required paperwork completely and accurately

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High level of skill and experience driving a commercial motor vehicle OR training in operating a commercial motor vehicle
  • Valid unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing
  • MSHA training or completion of MSHA training prior to driving solo
